Nous avons aussi croisé un lynx;
- Proverbe Finlandais -
3 and a half months of canoeing in Finland in complete autonomy with a drone and a small incursion in Russia which has earned us from being removed from our freedom by Finnish rangers ...
However, we have met so many caring, kind and inquisitive people that we view this trip as a gift of life.
We also crossed a lynx;
Without images of the feline, we wouldn't have said anything !
From mid-May to the end of July we traveled more than 1200 km of canoe and enjoyed a hundred kilometers of portages through national parks, from huge lakes to tiny rivers to mesmerizing marshes.
Until the meeting of a Finnish family that will upset the course of our journey, its purpose and also a little of our life.
The month of August took place around a cabin / sauna at the edge of a lake, which has been lent to us for no time and to which we can return as we wish !
The stranger is our brother; The man who has come a long way is our parent.

We decided to go back north and abandon the idea of Lake Saimaa.
We opt for the uncertainty of small rivers in which the risk of carriage exists.
It's a day of bad weather but we appreciate this change.

We decided to go back north and abandon the idea of Lake Saimaa.
We opt for the uncertainty of small rivers in which the risk of carriage exists.
It's a day of bad weather but we appreciate this change.
Corner fire and bivouac possible but we're not even half of the day, it's unthinkable !
Our goal was set on a river about forty kilometers away.
And after a day to tire us, we missed the entrance to the said river ..... with this image we really wonder what we do here !
It is to believe that we did it on purpose !
Standing in the canoe, we can not distinguish anything more !
And sit, do not even talk about it !
Once blocked, we launched the drone that revealed our stupidity !
There was a boulevard !
It took us over an hour to reach the river.
This "loose" made us laugh! We were not in danger, we had taken no risk, we just looked a little cons !
We determined the location of the bivouac with the drone and directed our last effort towards this point.
The tent will be mounted on the islet in the middle of this marsh.
Sun day, we see at 1 pm from the tent a beaver house on the edge of the riverbed.
We can see the frail trace of our canoeing in the vegetation.
We intend to go down this river,
But we notice that the entrance to the river is already very crowded,
We send the drone more than 3 km by following the river and we find that it is clogged and we must appreciate our mistake the day before as a sign not to neglect !
Then at the end of this forest path, we spend some time on the map to find an alternative that does not go south, while allowing us to return to Padasjoki.
We find an interesting option to me north, which remonstrates our energy,
it is also the most difficult option, since it includes a portage of 40 kilometers on the road to reach a lake that will be our gateway to Padasjoki, still 350 km away.
This new course remains motivating since we know that unforeseen events will occur and we do not know if we will have time to come back for August 25th.
"No, good people do not like that ..."
We understood that by borrowing this river we will be too much galley and that our feeling of traveling risks being abused, we decided to turn back! Reverse before heading north.
It was still impossible to imagine what this choice was going to have as consequences !
We have chosen the longest, most difficult option, with a portage that will take us a minimum of two days.
