Our first trip to two canoes, to each his own boat, to each his meditations.
This notebook is dedicated to my daughter Amélie,
because before leaving I had, like her, underestimated her ability to be a vagabond.
When she unrolls this notebook, she is just waiting to leave together with her canoe.
We thought that this trip would be very different from that of 2017, indeed it was really a notch above, as much in the emotions of our father-daughter relationship, as through the meetings that took place.
The title is also a tribute because without my daughter, without Israfil and Tarja, there would be less emotion in this notebook.
This notebook is also a Christmas gift for my daughter, because it is not compulsory to consume excessively to show her that I love her.

We leave the bivouac along the beach, the cross waves still keep us on the right path.
It is the geometry of the places that leads us to have to follow.
It is still the passage from one lake to another that teaches our emotions to take into account only our environment, the rest does not matter.
The pause is established by the beauty of what we seem to have to capture, failing to be able to preserve it.
Sandbanks suggest pleasant breaks,
and which have nothing to do with the laziness of moving forward,
it's just the vastness that manages to confuse our feeling of being able to be at the heart of such beauty.
One without the other is still the unknown.
Let's keep moving as long as nothing prevents us from progressing, literally and figuratively !
Each word is written like a stroke, it is carelessness that forges your determination.
I could have suffered so much from having educated you solo, that nothing stopped me from confronting you with yourself.
You know how much I love life since I learned to be only together.
Without making you believe that you had to look like me,
you are replicating behaviors that belong only to the father that I am.
Incapable of pride, there remains only the feeling of love of the bond which unites us to savor all our complicity.
You have to avoid looking too much alike to admit that you can really exist.
For the moment, it is the drone that reveals the distance that cannot yet be established between us.
Immensity always tends to bring people closer.
Our parentage still keeps us from wanting to let distance decide.
We left to let the influence of our freedoms divide us.
As long as we move forward together, the rest can wait to be considered.
I let you lead without you being able to denigrate the need you still have to refer to yourself.
Life seems to belong to us as soon as its evidence becomes perceptible.
It is late and we left early.
We walk along the edge in the idea of finding a corner for tonight.
Then the drone makes us admit that it was a bit premature.
Buried in our decision, it's time to escape without regrets.
I admire you when you concede so easily that you have to do otherwise.
To adapt, you have to know how to accept that you have no other choice, otherwise it is a struggle or resistance.
So we escape from the endless reeds, then it's time to implore Mother Nature to suggest a bivouac, it's already 11pm and the urge to eat is eating us away. 10 minutes after this drone flight, the bivouac is found.
Under the thumb of a tree, like a dog trained to its master.
Sentenced to having to seek shade not too far from the water.
A sort of DIY barge inhabited by a surly man told us that there must be a camp.
Without realizing it, the weather will impose a second day of rest, sheltered from a crazy wind and incessant rain.
This first sunny day leaves nothing to predict the next day.
We are so close to seeing Israfil and Tarja that there is only the weather to prevent us.
Small lakes are trapped inside this huge island.
It's the last evening that a crazy storm arrives and while the camera is on to record the incredible sounds of thunder, lightning falls not too far from the tent and illuminates the night as in broad daylight, just a fraction of a second.
For two hours, impossible to sleep, the thunder is unleashed and rumbles for whole minutes, the insane noise of the rain envelopes us inside with a kind of fear that each lightning revives.
